Sometimes this is what I think I’m doing.
My Little Pony graphics courtesy of Junk Food. I’m trying to age gracefully so these are not necessarily graphic T-shirts that I would be rocking these days but if you’re still fresh-faced and young, or just young at heart, head over to the Junk Food store. I am totally digging their website design way more than their apparel but this is just age talking. It’s a biatch!

Weird Science of Alexander McQueen, 1999
Lee Alexander McQueen. Thank you.
Late 1999, I scored myself a job in the marketing department of Givenchy. Words cannot describe that moment. Any attempt to describe my exact sentiment would be futile suffice to say with McQueen at the helm, anything was possible. For those unsure of the whole Givenchy vs. McQueen story, please glide over to Wikipedia, the historical facts are secondary here. As a young, eager, delusional designer it felt so right; he was an anarchist, genius, unpredictable and I was smitten with this “enfant terrible”. Read more…

Something crafty is cooking in The Cupcaketologist’s Kitchen!
Our lovely, mega talented gal pal, Jess a.k.a The Cupcaketologist, has been cooking up a storm but this time cupcakes aren’t in the mix. Luella ceases trading. A dark day indeed for British fashion.
Club 21, the brand’s licensee, announced today it has “taken the decision not to invest further in its relationship with Luella Bartley Limited.” Production for the RTW S/S ‘10 collection has already ground to a halt if the rumour serves to be accurate. Clearly we are not the only ones totally depressed by this sad loss to the British fashion industry, our pal Rachael Gibson pretty much sums our sentiment, “For in our hearts the dreams are still the same…”
F*ck corporate BS. The revolution is a-coming… Save Luella!
Join the Save Luella! Revolution by posting this graphic on your website or blog. You can thank us later but for now there is a campaign to run… step to it!!! Read more…

Bittersweet. Disdain vs. delight.
Aversion. I make no disillusion over my sentiments for the month of October… or so I thought…
Having never been an aesthete of all things autumnal, my original intent had been to write this post about my disdain for blustery, sodden October with its omnipotent imposing sense of dark foreboding. However, when I actually sought to collect my thoughts, in the vaguest semblance of order, it took very little time indeed to realise that just maybe I had passed judgement a little too prematurely. J Smith Esquire leads the revolution
Quintessentially British: avant-garde, creative and unmistakably eccentric. An appropriate précis of emerging supertalent, J Smith Esquire, who is spearheading the new wave in British millinery. The fashionistas amongst you will no doubt know hats are back, in a very big way. Amidst the purists, they never left.
No amount of rain or financial ruin will ever dampen British creativity. Read more…
