The Art of Joel Fletcher
Yesterday’s thoughts of Edward Gorey have turned today’s thoughts to Tim Burton… Back in the 90’s Joel Fletcher worked as an animator at Skellington Productions for Tim Burton’s motion fantasy film, The Nightmare Before Christmas. Using his Nikon stereo rig on Kodachrome slide film, he photographed the amazing setups in 3D stereo. The stereo pairs were digitally scanned and converted to anaglyph format. These anaglyph photos require either red/blue or red/cyan 3-D glasses to see the stereoscopic effect.
Artist and animator, Joel Fletcher has worked on some of the most acclaimed animated movies of our time; Lord of the Rings, X-Men, King Kong and The Nightmare Before Christmas to name but a very few.
Featured here are some of our 3D Nightmare favourites. Alternatively, you may want to check out Joel’s 3D Stereo Anaglyph Photo Gallery.
