The Neon Monster Bestiary title

Art meets sci-fi in The Bestiary, an evolving microsite curated by San Francisco art collective, Neon Monster. Peruse the secret case files for Dr. Dayglow and the other inhabitants of the facility.

Watch these fluorescent monsters as they maraude around their facility but please, refrain from feeding or petting them, it may be dangerous!

There’s a Doctor obsessed with neon, a giant depressive cyclops, Mitch, a chicken-obsessed Mouth, a psychedelic Psnail, a proto-robotic Robotephant and a conglomeration of eyeballs with a viscous ectoplasm loosely binding them together aka Panoptes.

Pour over Dr Dayglow’s book as he reveals the monsters’ individual case files – mind blowing in detail, intoxicating and dry in wit. The Bestiary is an evolving project of words and ideas by Isaac and Jacob Pritzker, 2D art by Reuben Rude and web design by us!

It’s pretty fair to say this is one of THE most bonkers projects we have worked on and we’re mighty proud to have been a part of this new development. Check out the quirky interface design for the page navigation and the “in character” graphics, which add to the user experience and reinforce the brand’s story. Oh, and then there’s the Error 404 page… but we’re not going to reveal all here, you’ll need to visit The Bestiary to discover more.

Those of you following the Neon Monster story, may have already seen the launch of their depressive cyclops, Mitch, launched in 3D plush form on Monday. If this is all fresh news to you, Mitch Plush is a limited edition huggable version of this monster, you can read about it here, and he’s also available to buy exclusively from the Neon Monster store.

New converts to the world of Neon Monster, come on in, don’t be shy! Check out The Bestiary to brush up on the monsters or head over to their blog for the latest news, ponderings and discussions going on in the facility.
