Any attempt to describe my exact sentiment would be futile suffice to say with McQueen at the helm, anything was possible. Luella ceases trading. A dark day indeed for British fashion.

Club 21, the brand’s licensee, announced today it has “taken the decision not to invest further in its relationship with Luella Bartley Limited.” Production for the RTW S/S ‘10 collection has already ground to a halt if the rumour serves to be accurate. Clearly we are not the only ones totally depressed by this sad loss to the British fashion industry, our pal Rachael Gibson pretty much sums our sentiment, “For in our hearts the dreams are still the same…”

Bittersweet. Disdain vs. delight.

Aversion. I make no disillusion over my sentiments for the month of October… or so I thought…

Having never been an aesthete of all things autumnal, my original intent had been to write this post about my disdain for blustery, sodden October with its omnipotent imposing sense of dark foreboding.
